SEA-AIDS is a regional electronic discussion forum (eForum) focused on HIV/AIDS, TB and other health and development issues in Asia and the Pacific. Founded in March 1996, SEA-AIDS is a moderated eForum, with support from a virtual network of experts called the SEA-AIDS eForum Resource Team.
 
SEA-AIDS objectives
- promoting collaboration between non-governmental organisations and governments
- enhancing participation and debate around regional/national decision-making and policies
 
Core functions
- A platform for dialogue, discussion and debate;

- Supporting regional advocacy;

- Mapping regional developments and emerging issues; and

- Providing an overview of news, events, projects, resources and job-openings

Online Discussion on Universal Access

ITPC, APN+, 7 sisters, WAC, AHRN and HDN are pleased to announce a new focused online discussion of Universal Access on SEA-AIDS beginning on Monday, 12 May. During the next three months (May-July 2008), this online discussion will introduce specific themes and questions relating to universal access, based in part on the regional framework developed by civil society during the preparation of the Independent Commission on AIDS report in late 2007

  Background Resources on the AIDS Epidemic in Asia Pacific  
   
 
 
The Correspondent issue 15, “From Kobe to Colombo: Keeping AIDS in focus in Asia and the Pacific,” produced by Health and Developments Networks (HDN) is a useful background resource for ICAAP events. This special issue of the Correspondent comprises two parts; obstacles and recommendations for action – Regional Consultation on Scaling up towards Universal Access Pattaya, Thailand – February 2006, and selected reports from the International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) Kobe, Japan – July 2005.
